« Kentucky Bride »

Usually, I try to stick to a "blogging schedule" (Monday - giveaway, Tuesday - real weddings, Wednesday-inspiration board, etc.). This week we are going to mix things up in anticipation of a fantastic giveayay on wednesday!  So, let's start the week off right with wonderful ideas from Kentucky Bride magazine.

In Cincinnati we are conveniently located near the border of Indiana and Kentucky. Since we previously mentioned the perfect Ohio favor, I thought we would venture south.

We found the most amazing gifts and favors from Kentucky. "Sometimes the obvious can be the most surprising. We found some of the most amazing gifts and favors right in our own backyard," said Julie Wilson, editor/publisher of Kentucky Bridemagazine. "These Kentucky-themed treasures allow the couple to give their guests a taste of the Bluegrass State."

Cookies from Lime Diamonds, made by Zannah Reed in Lexington. With just the right amount of sweetness to complement the naturally-derived ingredients (ginger, blood orange and their namesake lime to name just a few), these potential favors can be packaged in a myriad of ways, including single cookies, a sleeve of three or in eco-friendly boxes.

For nearly 90 years, Ruth Hunt Candies has been making chocolate confections in their Mt. Sterling store. The company earned the title of “Official Candy Makers of Churchill Downs and The Kentucky Derby.” Three of their best-selling creations are the bourbon balls, melt-aways and Blue Monday candy bar.

Straight from their family farm in Wickliffe, mother-and-daughter team Peggy Batts and Tracy Sullivan are utilizing lavender in their new collection of Hillhouse Naturals products. The line includes lavender sachets, potpourri and votives.

Pomegranate Inc., located in Lexington, has a new line of Kentucky-themed, faux leather products. The company’s Horse Bit collection includes red, black or brown photo frames in both 4”x6” and 5”x7”.
